➤ Mecklenburg County: Officials briefed the public Monday on how $740,000 will be used to support food resources for 138,500 county recipients of SNAP benefits. (More) 
➤ Asheville: Conserving Carolina’s White Squirrel Challenge features eight hiking trails the organization helped protect or expand. Participants can hike the trails in any order at their own pace, but only hikes completed after Oct. 1 count toward the challenge. (More and See Details)
