Answer: After the end of the American Revolution, Andrew Jackson studied law in Salisbury. He was admitted to the North Carolina bar in 1787. In 1788 he served the Cumberland region as prosecuting attorney of North Carolina’s western district—a region west of the Appalachians that would soon become part of Tennessee.
