Gov. Josh Stein signed six bills into law Friday but did not sign or address two immigration measures and one concealed carry without a license bill.

House Bill 506 creates a five-person board of appointees to manage state employee pensions, a duty normally held by the state treasurer.

House Bill 50 changes how law enforcement separation allowances are paid, while House Bill 231 eases license transfers for social workers between North Carolina and other states.

Gov. Stein also signed House Bill 477, Senate Bill 248, and Senate Bill 477, addressing retirement death benefits, birth certificates for adopted persons, and DNCR agency updates.
