Question: What is the state horse of North Carolina?

Answer: The state horse of North Carolina is the Colonial Spanish Mustang. In June 2010, the North Carolina General Assembly officially adopted it following a request from students in Currituck County. These hardy, gentle horses descend from Spanish stock and live as wild herds on the Outer Banks, notably in Corolla and Shackleford Banks.
