Own The Flyover

Join the Movement—Invest in The Flyover

We launched The Flyover to build something rare in American media—a newsroom focused on facts and real stories, not political narratives and biased reporting.

We’re now about halfway to our investment goal, thanks to more than 1,540 readers who have invested in our mission of independent, reader-driven journalism.

If you are an investor, thank you.

If you are not, I hope you will consider joining your fellow readers.

Before I focus on bringing in new investors, I would like to offer you, our readers, a special opportunity to be part of this next chapter. You’ve been with us from the start. You understand why The Flyover is needed—and I’d rather grow with you by my side than rely on outside investors who don’t share our values.

Making Investing More Accessible

That’s why I’ve asked our legal counsel to lower the minimum investment to $500—to make ownership in The Flyover accessible to more of the people who built it: you, our readers.

Why Invest in The Flyover

  1. Independent journalism matters. We answer to readers, not advertisers, political activists, or corporate boards.
  2. Our audience is soaring. From a kitchen-table startup to over 3.3 million readers nationwide, The Flyover is among the top 1% of fastest-growing media startups in America.
  3. We’re delivering results. Since our first investor round, readership has grown 27%, while maintaining a strong gross profit margin and expanding our reporting reach.
  4. You’re investing in trust. Nearly every dollar goes directly toward expansion and innovation—maintaining the fact-first, unbiased approach too often abandoned by legacy media.
  5. Return on your investment. As The Flyover continues its positive trajectory, there are several ways readers–turned–investors could benefit in the future: through a sale of the company, a public listing, or dividend distributions. While none of these are guaranteed, they reflect potential outcomes if our growth continues on its current path.

Owning a part of The Flyover is special. And even though it’s much more complicated and requires additional work for us to manage a larger group of smaller investors, I have instructed our attorney to proceed anyway. Because I want to partner with you, our readers.

If you’ve been on the fence, now is the time to invest.

Will you be part of the movement that changes the way Americans consume their news?

The Roundup

Article Icon 1Pay on Hold for Air Traffic Controllers

As the federal government shutdown hit day 28 on Tuesday, air traffic controllers across the country continued working without pay, receiving their first $0 paycheck since the shutdown began Oct. 1. This came just one day after existing staffing shortages at major airports caused nearly 7,000 flight delays nationwide.

Charlotte Douglas International Airport’s (CLT) air traffic controllers planned to hand out flyers warning travelers about the added stress and staffing shortages caused by the shutdown.

Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said controllers are “wearing thin.” The Federal Aviation Administration reported more than 260 staffing incidents as of Tuesday—four times higher than this time last year.

There were around 62 flight delays at CLT and 34 at Raleigh-Durham International Airport as of Tuesday afternoon.

Article Icon 1NAACP Adds Redrawn NC Map to Suit

The North Carolina NAACP and Common Cause plan to challenge the newly approved congressional map in their ongoing federal lawsuit, NAACP v. Berger. A court filing Monday indicates the organizations will seek to supplement their complaint against Senate Bill 249, which redrew Districts 1 and 3.

The NAACP argues the map further dilutes black voting power in District 1 by lowering the black voting-age population and contends the changes perpetuate “the same injuries” from the 2023 map, preventing the case from becoming moot.

This follows a similar move by plaintiffs in the related Williams v. Blackwell case. The combined lawsuits, tried over six days this summer, await a decision from a three-judge panel.

Republican leaders defend the map as politically motivated, not racially driven.

Article Icon 1Final Beam Placed Atop Two Kings Casino

Construction crews and the Catawba Nation held a topping-off ceremony Monday to place the final beam atop the $1 billion Catawba Two Kings Casino resort in Kings Mountain.

Phase one, expected to open in spring 2026, will replace the temporary casino and feature 1,350 slot machines, 22 table games, a restaurant, and a bar. Upon completion in 2027, the full 2 million-square-foot complex will include 4,300 slot machines, 100 table games, multiple restaurants and bars, and a hotel.

Once fully operational, the casino is expected to employ about 2,200 people, including Catawba Nation citizens and local residents.

Catawba Nation Chief Brian Harris said the resort will transform Kings Mountain’s economy and called it a historic moment for his tribe that is “far greater than a construction process.”
