Question: How many copies of the United States Constitution were originally printed?
Answer: The delegates to the Federal Convention signed the United Statees Constitution on September 17, 1787, then ordered 500 copies to be printed by Dunlap and Claypoole–printers of the weekly Pennsylvania Packet. Each copy had the names of the signers, two resolutions, and a cover letter signed by Convention President George Washington.
