Question: Where did the Spanish flu originate?

Answer: The origin of the Spanish flu is uncertain, but evidence suggests it began in Haskell County, Kansas, in January 1918. Some medical historians and epidemiologists have theorized that the 1918 flu pandemic began in Asia, possibly linked to a Chinese outbreak or spread by Chinese or Vietnamese laborers either crossing the U.S. or working in France. A British scientist has also suggested it started in a British Army post in France, where a 1916 disease resembling the 1918 influenza epidemic erupted.
