Originally called Home and Hospital, St. Peter’s Hospital occupied two rooms on East Seventh Street and moved to various locations during its first year. In 1877, a local organization purchased a lot on Poplar Street for the hospital, where it began operations on June 4 as the Home and Hospital of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church.
