Question: Which infamous pirate made his home in Bath before he died in 1718?

Answer: Blackbeard, whose real name was probably Edward Thache (later rendered as Teach), was likely born in or near Bristol, England, in the 1680s and grew up partly in Jamaica. He settled in Bath after accepting a royal pardon from Gov. Charles Eden in 1718, but soon returned to piracy and was killed that November by a Royal Navy force under Lt. Robert Maynard at Ocracoke Inlet.
