Question: Were any other North Carolinians involved in the Enola Gay bombing on Hiroshima during World War II?
Answer: John McGlohon of Asheville joined the Army Air Corps just a few months before Japan attacked Pearl Harbor. He was assigned as an aerial reconnaissance photographer, and ended up flying over Hiroshima on Aug. 6, 1945, the day the Little Boy bomb was dropped on Hiroshima by the Enola Gay.
